What is an Elixir?

This blog will cover health science and nutrition. When the topic involves the mental health side of things it can be placed in this blog if it is more technical and more rigorously scientific and when it involves more philosophy and perspective it will be posted in the Oyster in the Bay blog, with a short synopsis and link uploaded to this blog as well. 

I chose this name, Elixir of the Sea, because it is in line with the "Bay" and water theme of this channel/account, and elixir for its deeper meanings; a more subtle way to say that this blog is about medicine and health. 

Here are some definitions of elixir that further explain the meaning behind the name.

A magical or medicinal potion:
"an elixir guaranteed to induce love"

Goals and ambitions: I believe that this world was created with all the raw material and ability for the cure for all diseases and the solution to every problem. Human beings have the ability to use reason, critical thinking and ingenuity to find a cure for every illness and bring the world to a state of perfection. I want to be a part of this great project; to be a part of the solution. There is so much information available in the digital age, the next step now is to gather the information, analyze it and communicate with other scientists and thinkers. There are many ideas discussed and even implemented that are ineffective and even reckless. There are also ideas that have been dismissed or not yet discovered, or maybe even just waiting to be publicized so it can reach those for whom it can be a benefit. 

In this blog I plan to share my learning, criticue and verify known theories and find and develop new theories I hypothesize or discover. Welcome! Join me for the journey, either as a participant or even just an observer.
