This was from a night teaching tourists to braid challa in my home.
Its over 2 under 1 over 2. The trick is that the one that gets pulled over then becomes the one under for the next side, so although its all the way in the edge, the 2nd to the edge is what goes all across next time with what was pulled before goes over it just until the middle.
It does help to keep
the sides far apart to understand what you are working with.
